Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! I have been trying to come up with a new title for my blog. A few days ago Rose turned on the radio to dance and the song "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" started playing. Rose enjoyed dancing to it. She is all dressed up in her coincidentally Cindi Lauperish outfit. Let's just hope Cindi is kinder then Prince and I dont get sued for posting this video.

My Nephew, Ben, my niece, Brooklyn and my grandmother (dad's mom) Hazel. My brother, Jacob, is sitting behind them in the greenish shirt.
We tried to get picture of the kids with their great-grandmother but this was as good as it gets. My niece and nephew are tall for their age (almost nine and seven) and my grandmother is a very tiny lady. PS The cute matching dresses my girls are wearing are from my sister-in-law, April, she loves to spoil them and I am thankful since she has great taste.Posted by Rachel at 10:25 AM 0 comments

At one point Pearl had half of her hand in the goats mouth while he was gently chewing the grass without biting her.

Yesterday I got a speeding ticket! I was going 41 in a 25 but it was down hill and there where about six cops pulling over every single car. I was so frustrated I started to cry and Rose says to me "Mommy if you don't go fast the police won't stop you!" Out of the mouths of babes!

If any of you keep up with Tricia and Nate's blog please be in prayer right now. Tricia is getting her new lungs!! Praise God that she will be able to spend time watching her sweet baby grow up. If you haven't read their story Tricia has CF and found out she was pregnant days before she was to be put on the Transplant list the doctors all told her to terminate the pregnancy because the risks for her life and the baby's were so high. She trusted God and Gwyneth was delivered by an emergency C-section 15 weeks early. Without a lung transplant Tricia's life expectancy was only a year. PS Today is her husbands birthday can you think of a better gift?!? If you want to keep up with their story just click on Tricia and Gwyneth under my list of praying for.

Billy Graham School of Evangelism in Ashville, NC.
I Love this picture of Rose. Recently we are noticing how grown up she is looking. All of her sweet baby chub is gone and she is becoming a little lady.
Papa's Girl! Pearl loves my dad and whenever she talks to my mom on the phone all she says is Papa? Papa home? Poor Mim has to play second fiddle to Papa.
My parents and I took the girls to Lancaster for the day. We ate at Shady Maple Smorgasboard. This is the largest Smorgasboard in Lancaster County. The Buffet stretches as long as football field and the restaurant seats 1,200. The food is very tasty and the variety and price can't be beat.

It has been a long time since I have posted. Here are some new pictures finally.
Rose and Pearl helping making cookies Mike for Valentine's Day!
Rose being Daddy's assistant!
Pearl and Hop, are inseparable!!! She even makes sure we pray for Hop at every meal. Hop is becoming a dirty stinky bunny. After months of searching the internet I found a new identical bunny, but she just throws it and cries for Hop.
The girls and their dolls. Since Pearl always prays for Hop Rose decided to pray for her doll Sophie. If Rose forgets to pray for Sophie Pearl reminds us to pray for the dolls, and the babies too. As soon as we pray and take a bite of food Pearl will fold her cute chubby hands and say "pray again"! If it was up to Pearl we would spend our whole meal praying for dolls and stuffed animals.

Learning to READ!
Daddy look what I learned to do this week! (Mike is on a trip for work.) Now what are we going to do for the next two and a half years before she is old enough to start kindergarten?
P.S. I can't really take much credit for her skills, she gets it from her daddy. Mike "taught" himself to read about 4 years old.

McDonalds's... They're loving it. (PS honey sorry I know they are a Starbucks competitor, but the Siren isn't as cool as Ronald McDonald. Maybe if you could work on getting some Playlands in Starbucks stores the girls would enjoy hanging out there more. At least I didn't get a cup of coffee.;)
Hi Donald! Mike and Rose laugh because when Pearl says, "bagel, blanky, boogy and burger" it all sounds the same.
This video of Rose going down the slide may not seem very exciting, unless you know Rose. She is very timid at trying new things and so this is actually as big of an accomplishment for her as is learning to read. It took her about ten minutes and a new little friend to even get her to enter the Playland tunnel.

Pearl is becoming quite the little chatterbox. This video is a little sample of just a few of her words. At the end of the video you get a little taste of her "Drama Queen" side. Isn't she just so cute? We think so, and it is a good thing because she is often very naughty, but always very lovable.

You are my Sunshine my only Sunshine... Please don't flush my Sunshine away...
About two weeks ago we finally bought Rose a long overdue reward for being potty trained. (She has been potty trained for awhile, however due to many, many UTI she has had a few setbacks.) We had been promising her a pet. Not a furry pet just a little fish, that she named Sunny. He is orange (although Rose prefers to call him dark yellow)with a Mickey Shaped marking on his body. About two days after we got him Rose was upstairs "getting dressed" and it seemed to be taking a long time. This is actually quite common as Rose often gets distracted and ends playing with her toys in her room at some point in her getting dressed process. I usually don't worry about what she is up to as long as we are not in a hurry to go somewhere. Suddenly I hear her say something about her fish and I knew immediately this may not be good. My mom was visiting and I was in the middle of cooking breakfast so I sent her up to check on Rose. She discovered Rose with an empty soap bottle. Rose told my mom that she was worried that I had put cold water in the fish tank and so she added some hot water so her fish would not get cold. She had dumped the foaming hand soap out and used the bottle to fill the fish tank. I emptied about two thirds of the water as it did not really look very sudsy. Well everything seemed fine until yesterday. Pearl asked to see "fishy" and I could not find him in the tank. I finally saw him sideways at the bottom of the tank. When I told Rose I thought he was dead she really started to cry. Mike was of course out of town. I realized not only did I have to deal with Rose's disappointment but I had to dispose of Sunny. I quickly recalled being at a friends house a few years ago when he noticed his son's fish was half-dead. He put the not yet dead fish in his garbage disposal and turned it on. UGH! I couldn't believe it. I did not take that route, but went for the tried and true method, the flush. When Rose talked to Mike about her fish she told him he fed it to much and that is why it died. I think the hot sudsy bath he had may have contributed. Rose and her daddy will be going fish shopping again this weekend. Rose has already informed me that her new fish's name will also be Sunny.

Cracker Barrel
We stopped at Cracker Barrel a few weeks ago on the way home from my parents house.
The girls loved the shop and the rocking chairs. Pearl loves bunnies so all of the Easter Decor was making her very "HOPPY"! Mike and I enjoyed eating Chicken-N-Dumplins and Pot Roast sitting in front of the huge warm fireplace. I had forgotten how yummy their food is. PS Pearl's cute jacket is a hand me down from my cousins. It just makes me smile every time she wears it.

Happy valentine's Day! I included a few pictures form last year as they were just too cute! I can't beleive how big my baby is getting! Pearl is becoming quite a talker and has so much to say trying to keep up with her big sister. Last week Pearl went for her 15 month check-up. She weighed 23 lbs and is 31 1/2" tall, although the measurement may not be very accurate as she kept trying to jump off of the table in fear of getting her shots. Pearl hates shots but she loves the Children's Tylenol she gets afterwards. Now she is bringing me any bottle of pills she can get her hands on and she says "sick, sick" in hopes of getting some yummy grape pills. What a little stinker!
PS the beautiful heart quilt in the background was created by my friend Suzie when Rose was born. Thanks Suzie we still use it and love it!
