This weekend, our apartment complex had a luau for all the residents. Rose enjoyed the music, the hula dancers, but didn't really enjoy the fireworks.

Hello friends and family!
Welcome to our new way to share photos and the journey of our life as floridians.
I took some time off this week and we traveled up to Michigan to visit with our family and friends. It was a great time to relax, spend some time together, and introduce Rose to her new friends--a cow, a goat and a few dogs. She was spoiled by all who played with her--her auntie grandma and uncle grandpa, her busia and her grandpa dick and grandma delores. She loved pool time with her cousins and her first potato pancake and pierogi (she is half polish, you know).
We came back just in time as the winds from Hurricane Dennis created some bumps as we landed. We woke up at 4am Saturday morning as the winds and rain shook our doors and windows. The winds got up to 50mph--and we were 200 miles away from the hurricane on the complete other side of the state. Rose didn't know the difference since we put her to bed in the bathroom--just to be safe. :)
Tomorrow Rose turns 9 months old. She amazes us with all she has learned. She loves to clap (especially as you begin to sign 'if youre happy and you know it'), climb up on anything around her, crawl faster than the speed of light, and practice her sign language. Her favorite sign is "duck" since she can't go a day without going to the lake outside to feed the ducks. She usually performs all of her signs at once before she goes to sleep (almost like a finale at a fireworks show) just to fight off the thought of going to bed.
Hope you enjoy the photos of our recent journey. We miss our friends lots--we hope this makes you feel a little closer.
Love,
Mike (for all of us)
