Christmas Fun at Mim and Pop's House!
We arrived the day after they had 14 inches of snow!

Pearl and Rose peek a boo!

Cousins Rose and Ben!

Pearl's favorite dessert is whipped cream!

The cousins singing "Away in a Manger" at my parents church on Christmas Eve.

Brooklyn and Ben!

My baby brother Nate.

Twas the night before Christmas (well actually Christmas morning). I love that my kids are not old enough yet to wake me up at five am on Christmas!

Pearl's new towel. Rose picked a bear because Pearl likes to growl.

Trying to get a cute picture of the girls together.

Still Trying...

If getting a picture of two kids together isn't hard enough now we are trying for four!

Rose is not usually the one making the faces in our pictures.

Baby Jesus's birthday cake. What made our cake unique is that the (Channukah) candles were donated by m Jewish brother, the lighter provided by my brother that smokes and the cake well it was made with Creme De Menthe (Alcohol). I am sure Jesus didn't mind our intersting birthday cake, and appreciated the precious hearts of the little ones singing to Him!

Our little Elf and of course that darn stinky bunny!

We're having another....
Now that we have told our family and friends I am letting out the secret... We are having another baby! I am due the middle of June and I am 16 weeks along and all is well. We waited a while to announce this pregnancy since I have had so many miscarriages (7 total). (Yes if you do the math this is my tenth pregnancy, almost catching up to the Duggars;) The girls are both so excited. Rose has nicknamed the baby Flowerlove. Pearl often says in her deep voice "I'm gonna call your baby Hunga Munga!" Other times she calls the baby "sootsnack" (aka fruitsnack). We will be finding out the sex but will not be telling the name so for now we will use the nicknames chosen by it's sisters. (I prefer to use Flowerlove.) PS Please take my poll on the right and guess what you think we are having.

"Momma, I ate a shoe!"
Rose and Pearl were quietly playing with dolls in Rose's room this morning. I was enjoying making breakfast without my little helpers cracking eggs all over the counter. Rose came down to ask me to help her dress her Barbie. Meanwhile Pearl is left alone with the Rose's toys. A minute later Pearl comes down and says "Momma, I ate a shoe." I was at first worried (well not too worried because I must admit I tried to stifle my chuckle when she told me) that it was a barbie shoe but it turned out it was a Polly Pocket (very tiny) shoe. I did what any good mother would do gave her a banana, some scrambled eggs, and hot chocolate to wash it down. I also called the doctor and they said she should be fine. Pearl sure keeps me on my toes (no pun intended).

My husband's life is more glamorous then mine.
You may recall last Tuesday he had VIP passes to the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and texted me that he "high fived" Al Roker.

Well tonight he one upped that. He is at some Global Green Awards ceremony in NYC and just sent me this text:
"Mel Gibson is at this event:) I'll tell him you said hi!"
Forget "hi" give him a kiss from me. Well off to put Pearl back in bed for the fifth time. Mel Shmell......

No more diapers for MEEEE!!!!!
I have been having Pearl wear underwear when we are at home. She had still been having some "accidents" so I had been putting her in pull-ups for outings, nap and bedtime. Thursday I was getting her dressed for Mops (Mothers of Preschoolers) and as I put her pull-up on she started crying and was very upset asking to wear undies. Since she has an Oct. birthday her class (at MOPS) is mostly kids under two, so they do not have a bathroom in the room. So although I felt bad about putting her in a pull-up that morning I did it anyway. She kept it dry so I should have just put undies on her. That night when Mike was getting her ready for bed she again threw another fit about not wanting to wear a pull-up to bed. I told Mike we could try to put her in undies and see how it goes. She woke up dry!!! Since then she has been wearing undies all the time and keeping them dry even through the night! She has only had one accident. The other morning I was still asleep and all of the sudden I am woken up by this little voice saying "Mommy I hafta doe(go) Pee!" I hop out of bed run to her room she is not there. I look in the bathroom, no Pearl, check her sister's bed, no Pearl there either. I finally found her downstairs standing on her little stool looking out the window to see the snow! However by the time I found her she had already peed on the stool. Oh well she had stayed dry all night and the stool was much easeir to clean then her bed would have been. I can't blame her for being so excited about the snow that she did not stop to go to the bathroom first. Any way other then tat one accident it looks like she has decided that she wants to be a big girl. I am thrilled that this potty training experience has been much much easier then Rose's so far this is the first time Pearl has been "easier" then Rose.

A Swedish Christmas
Yesterday we went to a Santa Lucia Festival at the Swedish American Museum.

The children dressed in Swedish attire and sang some traditional songs in Swedish.

Rose enjoyed watching the procession of Santa Lucia. She was very curious about the tray of tea and goodies that she was carrying. Rose wanted to try to make us breakfast in bed. Then she realized making tea might be too dangerous for her. We told her she can bring us breakfast in bed when she is older.:)

Rose holding the little Santa Lucia doll.

Making her own crown of candles.

I tried to get some cute pictures of the girls outside together in their cute coats (from Auntie April and Uncle Jacob.)

However it was just way to cold and they were both tired.

Pearl would not let go of her bunny and get her thumb out of her mouth.

Gotta love my little thumb sucker! She gets it from me, not now but when I was little.

Rose with her friend Max. His Dad has worked with Mike on some projects and they invited us to join them at this fun event. Did I mention besides the singing in Swedish and the procession their was of course yummy Swedish food, pastries and Glug. Glug is a very strong wine served hot with almonds and raisens in it. I took a whiff and of it and think I you could get drunk just smelling that stuff. I can see how it could sure warm you up after a day out skiing.
