I can't believe...
The girls had got a hold of our new phone. (We now have two handsets and one is an easy to reach location). Our neighbor called to see if everything is OK since we had called her at 8:30. I told her the girls had the phone and must have called her number. Then Rose tells me she was trying to call 911, but that she got the 9 and the 6 mixed up. I was glad that she had got the numbers mixed up. I told her how we don't call 911 unless it is an emergency and that if you call them when nothing is wrong and they send the police and ambulance out to your house when they could be helping someone who is really hurt. About two minutes later I hear a knock on the door. Again it is 8:30 I am in still in my mismatched jammies, with one sock on and the other in my hand. (Mike has already left for work). I answer the door and it is a police officer. (I guess she does know a #6 from a #9 after all. The one time I wished she did not know her numbers!) I told him I was sorry that my four year old had gotten a hold of the phone. I called Rose down and made her tell the officer she was sorry. After they left my other neighbors called to see if we were alright since they saw the police car at our house.
Once again I am humbled and as I am reminded of how terrible I thought other mother's were when their kids would call 911! Now I am one of those mothers...
At least if we ever have a real emergency I know Rose can dial 911 for me.

Celebrating
Paczki Day - Fat Tuesday - Mardi Gras
Paczkis (pronounced Poonch-ski) are a Polish tradition on Fat Tuesday!
Mike is 100% Polish so he grew up with this tradition!

A Paczki is basically a filled doughnut. We had, lemon, blueberry and custard filling.

I hid the baby Jesus in Rose's Paczki since we weren't able to get a King cake.

Yesterday the girls made their own Mardi Gras masks.

If you would like the link to the mask template here it is: Mardi Gras Masks!
They are really easy to make it just looks fancy with the glitter. If you have feathers that would be cute too.

Our Valentine's Day

In the windoware the heart sun catchers the girls made. It turned out to be a fun easy project. I think we will be doing it again with Shamrocks or Easter eggs.

We made yummy cream cheese stuffed french toast and cut them out into hearts.

Pearl even got in on the fun (mess)!

More pictures of the finished room coming soon.

Another Pearl story...
(this one is a little corny)
Yesterday, after church the girls were very tired so I got their lunch on the table and let them start eating while we were getting our plates ready. Pearl says mommy I have something in my nose. I then look at her plate and realize we are having corn for lunch and I ask "Did you put corn in your nose?" She told me "Yes, I have corn in my nose and it hurts." I tried having her blow her nose a few times really hard and nothing came out. I laid her down and tried looking up her nose, but couldn't see anything but a few boogers. I still was not convinced that she had a piece of corn in her nose and thought she just said yes since I had asked a leading question. I sat her up and had her blow her nose again. Suddenly a large piece of corn came flying out! Thank God this kid is an excellent nose blower, for her age. We had no idea this talent would come in handy and probably saved us a trip to the ER. Stay tuned for more "Pearl stories" coming soon...

Happy Valentine's Day!

The girls were invited to a Valentine party at a friend's house.

Pearl enjoying a red heart shaped bagel!

Rosey (as she currently prefers) filling a bag with yummy treats.

If you have a little girl that does not wear socks (or tights) you better paint those cute little piggies.

In love with candy!

Making a Valentine card with momma! Notice Pearl's dress says birthday girl. The morning of the party Rose asked to wear a heart dress not the cute Valentine sweatshirt I had planned on her wearing. I did not think she had any heart dresses but while looking in her closet I realized her birthday dress has removal numbers and they can be replaced with a heart that snaps on. So she was happy to wear that. Pearl then wanted to wear her birthday dress, which happened to be in the attic and did not have a heart on it. It made her happy and they both looked so cute even if they were a little over dressed for the even.

We are off to pick my mom up at the train station. The girls are excited to have Mim here to play with them. Mike and I are excited that we get to go out for Valentine's and have a great (free) sitter. Here is a video of Rose singing Christmas songs while riding to my parents house for the holidays. My mom had been visiting us the week before so she was riding back home with us. She is trying so hard not to crack up at Rose. Maybe all of this craziness in the car (we were stuck in NYC traffic) made her take the train this time. Maybe I'll take the train next time and let Mike drive up with the girls.;)

Sweet Feet- The girls and I are making this one today and will be sending it to grandparents. I think it will make the cutest Valentine Card! (Rose is thinking she would rather use her hands. If you do their feet you can actually paint them right in the bathroom and have some water in the tub to wash their feet right away.

Happy Ground Hog Day!
The girls and I have been making lots of crafts or projects as they like to call them.
I just found this adorable groundhog (made out of hearts) that we will be making as soon as they wake up from nap. Isn't he cute? I got the idea from http://luckymecraftsandkids.blogspot.com/

What am I doing right now? Cleaning up poop...

What is my hubby doing right now? Having lunch at 21 Club in NYC...
(Updated Ivanka was unable to attend due to an emergency business meeting.)
with Ivanka TRUMP!

Yes, I am not kidding as I clean poop, wipe snotty noses, eat leftover tomato soup and grilled cheese for lunch, Mike is dining at a restaurant, where a burger and Coke will set you back $50, with a beautiful, wealthy, model.

Ok, so obviously it is not just the two of them. Mike and one of the VP's from Starbucks are meeting with Ivanka's fiance for a business lunch. A few days ago he emailed them and asked if it was ok if Ivanka came along as well. I told Mike he should have replied no problem, is it ok if I bring Rachel along too? ;) Mike did not bother to forward my message on. Anyhoo...

So I gave him a few instructions:
1. Check out Ivanka's ring for me.
2. Tell me what she orders.
3. Don't spill red wine on Ivanka's dress... we'll go broke. (He said he'll be having water;)
