So did I as you can see I am taking the picture from the top of the slide.
Pearl decided it was more fun to go down on my lap, probably because we went faster together.

Words of wisdom from Pearl... "If you dotta do, you betta wun!" (If you gotta go, you better run!)
The other day we were eating out and both girls said they had to go to the bathroom. I was more then happy to let Mike take them to restroom as I sat and enjoyed my meal in peace. When Mike got back form the RR he said Pearl had told him, "If you gotta go, you gotta go!" (from Annie). Then she came up with her own idea "If you gotta go, you better run!"
Speaking of "going" Pearl has been doing amazingly well with being potty trained. I never remind her when to go she just knows and goes. However there are times I wish she wasn't potty trained so early like in the middle of the night when she wakes me up two or three times to go potty. (They have had bad colds and due to coughing have been allowed some extra water at night lately.) Saturday night both girls slept through the night! It was the first full night of sleep I have had in weeks maybe months, so when Pearl woke up at 6:30 crying that she had wet her bed I did not mind it one bit. I was more then glad to change her sheets and wash her up in exchange for a full night of sleep. Praying for more sleeping through the night!

Kids say so many cute things and usually by the time Mike gets home I can't even remember what they said to share it with him. I am trying to write a few down so I can remember these sweet and or funny comments they make.
Pearl has loved all Nativities this year. She stops to look at each one and wants to see and touch the baby Jesus. (She actuallycried when we put our Nativities away.) The other day we were leaving MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and there was big hole in the ground were a large tree had blown over. I told her that she needed to stay away from the hole so she did not fall in and she said "I am going to jump in and fly up to see baby Jesus." The next day while Mike was driving her in his car she tried to open the door (the child locks were on). He told her not to open the door because she could fall out and get hurt and she told him "Baby Jesus will catch me." As you can maybe tell we have a very sweet precious girl who loves baby Jesus and is a bit of a daring child. I pray He does catch her the many times she falls. I often tell Mike everyday she does not get stiches means that I have saved her from some mishap but I am sure more often then not it is GOd who is there protecting our little wild girl.
A commercial came on TV for Ambien (sleep aid) Rose says "Mom I think you need to get me some of that so I can fall asleep when Pearl is crying and keeping me awake." Not a bad idea but I might get it for myself. Maybe Mike has been sneaking that pill and that is why he does not hear the girls wake up in the night.
Let me preface this one by saying Pearl does not like her feet covered. She hates socks, tights and footy PJ's. We have a deal where she can go sockless in the house as she will put on socks and shoes wehn we venture out. Last night at dinner Pearl was telling Mike about a show she watched called Toot and Puddle. She said "Toot was watching a parade and he didn't have any shoes on." (Toot is a pig.) I asked her who else doesn't like to wear shoes? She replied "Me" and then quickly clarified with "I like shoes! I don't like socks." This is so true she hates socks so much so that we had to buy her a pair of "crocs" with fur lining to keep her toes warm in this frigid weather.

Not Me Monday is a fun honest way for moms to share with others that we are real people and not perfect after all. It was created by MckMama and she links to lots of other blogs that have great Not Me Monday posts. So here goes my first post now join in the fun.
I did not hesitate joining this Blog carnival for weeks even though I think it is fun because I can never remember anything from the previous week. Not me I have the memory of an elephant.
I did NOT get a container of juice out to bring to my neighbors for dinner one night stick it in the freezer to cool and then five minutes later forget where I put it. I did NOT continue to look for the said container of juice the following morning when I realized we were out of juice and then after about 10 minutes of searching finally open the freezer and find the frozen solid juice that my kids would not be drinking for breakfast that morning. I did NOT do that I would never put juice in the freezer nor do I allow my children to have juice as water is so much healthier.
I did NOT let Pearl strip down to her underwear and try on clothes at a thrift store so I could continue shopping without her running all over the place. NOT me, I would never let my child be in her underwear in the middle of a store and I DO NOT shop at thrift stores anyway.
I did NOT let Pearl climb into bed with us in the middle of the night for the umpteenth time in a row in an effort to get a little more sleep. NOT me that is not my parenting style I hate having kids in my bed at night and cannot sleep a wink and no matter how tired I am I would always return my child back to her own bed immediatley.
I did NOT try on no less then 15 shirts yesterday while getting ready for church because I wanted to look pregnant, not fat and neither regular nor maternity clothes fit me. NOT me, I am excited to be on my third pregnancy and pleased with my growing body and I would never try on so many outfits and make my family late to church when I have been the one complaining about us arriving late to church for the past few weeks.
and I certainly did NOT use my fingernail to remove a very nasty booger from Pearl's nose upon our late arrival to church. NOT me, I hate bodily fluids and would never have been so preoccupied with my own outfit as to forget to wash my precious child's face before church.
Now you know a few of my faults join in the fun and leave a comment if you do so we can ready your lists.
PS You can do this on Tuesday, Wednesday or even Thursday you get the idea just do it!!!
