More photo sessions...
I have a very sweet photo of Rose as a newborn in Mike's hands and I wanted to try to duplicate the same shot of Pearl before she got too big! (Rose's newborn pic. is the one with the white background, the pics. with the black background are Pearl) Of course Rose wanted in on the photo shoot, when I want to take her picture she does not want to be in it. Mike goes back to work tomorrow so it is my first day home alone! Well not exactly alone, if that was the case I would be sleeping all day long. Anyway we shall see how it goes. Rose seems to want my attention quite a bit lately so hopefully I can balance that with Pearl's feeding schedule and a shower for me. If I get that accomplished and everyone has been fed it will be a great day, if I get a nap in too that would be the icing on the cake.
In the past two days we have suddenly planned a Thanksgiving trip to Savannah with our friends Suzie and Justin (from Nashville), Savannah is about a 7 hour drive for them and us. They have three kids Stella is 5, Adam is almost 3, and Laura is 5 days older then Pearl. We are looking forward to visiting with them and meeting each others new babies.

Pictures, Pumpkins and Pearl! We took Pearl to the doctor today and she weighs 9lbs 6oz, a whole pound over her birth weight and only 10 days old. Rose did not weigh that much until she was almost 2 months old. Mike wanted to know if she will start sleeping through the night once she gets to 10lbs, sounds like a good plan to me. We went to Batten Farms today one of Rose's favorite places to go as they have some farm animals and they make the best homemade milkshakes, our current favorite is the Pumpkin shake, it tastes like drinking a pumpkin pie. We were hoping to get a pumpkin to carve and take some cute fall photos of our October girls, (since we don't have natural fall foliage we have to go somewhere with fall decorations). Anyway we did not have much luck with the pumpkins or pictures. They were out of big pumpkins except for one huge misshapen pumpkin that must have been passed up by many people before us (sorry to those of you that like to rescue misfits, we did not get the ugly pumpkin). As for the pictures, Rose would not sit still so we have a few blurry pics. of her and some of the back of her head. She also wasn't to sure what she thought of the scarecrows. We took a few cute photos of Pearl in the pumpkins. ( I have also included a picture of Rose as a newborn wearing the same pumpkin hat. Rose's picture is the one with the hay bale behind her.)

Sweet sisters. Rose is enjoying having her sister home. Each morning she wakes up talking about Pearl and goes to bed talking about her. Yesterday she helped us give Pearl her first bath. Pearl enjoyed the water and was awake for awhile afterwards so we were able to get a photo shoot in. We can't quite tell who Pearl looks like yet, her hair is very dark and fine so after her bath it sticks straight up like a big fuzz ball. I have been feeling good, but forgot that I still needed to rest so I am sending, daddy, my mom, and Rose to church this morning so Pearl and I can sleep and snuggle. Thank you all for the cards, flowers, meals and gifts. We appreciate your loving thoughts very much and wish many of you lived closer.

1:14pm 8lbs 5oz. 20 1/2 in.
We finally came home this evening and have been enjoying every minute. Rose is enjoying helping her mommy and daddy. She will be a great big sister (although she's a little disappointed we didn't get the version that already plays with her). We look forward to introducing her to you.

The birthday princess! Today is Rose's actual birthday. Yesterday I kept telling her that tommorow was her real birthday, so last night when Mike was putting her to bed he said she told him that she was having a Cinderella party today. Um no, she had wanted a Cinderella party, but I was thinking she would still be interested in Cinderella for next years birthday so I went with Nemo. So this morning we had her wear her Cinderella crown and a blue dress. Mike and I put a bunch of streamers and balloons up in the hallway entrance she was surprised this morning when she saw the decorations. Last night Mike's sister-in-law and husband(known as Auntie Grandma and Uncle Pappa) came to visit Rose for her birthday. We went out to dinner at Le Tub, (voted the best burger in the country) and had breakfast with them this morning. I took Rose to the Library and tonight we went to the park one of her favorite activites.
Rose's sister has an eviction notice scheduled. If I do not have her before Tuesday, Oct. 17th I will be induced that morning.

Fun at the Splash Park! Living in Florida you would assume we could go play at the park year round, however it is actually way too hot to go to a traditional park, even in October, several area parks have sprinklers for the kids to play in. Rose and her friend Avery enjoyed keeping cool at this fun little park, although we (the moms) were very hot and ready to jump in and splash wiht them.
